Social Diversity and Multiculturalism

Introduction:

1. Social diversity is the diverse factors surrounding our society such as race, culture, religion, age and disabilities. Multiculturalism to me means ethnic diversity in your society.

2. Social diversity is important in my life. I see things everyday that show different culture, religion, age and race. Being from Chicago you really have to develop a knack for seeing a lot of social diversity.

3. A couple years ago gender had been a diverse thing at school. I went to all male high school (for sports and good education) and actually thought it was cool. You really don't have to "dress to impress".  I never had a huge problem with race nor anything else.

Body:

I think that the most influential person is my dad. He is the one that really taught me about these kinds of things. I remember about "Gangs of New York" when thinking of Social Diversity. Im Irish and i loved seeing what went on when the Irish came to America. It shows that every social group had a problem when they first arrived here.

Conclusion:

1. I think the race factor is something that i am interested in researching. Everywhere has problems with Race issues and i think everyone should know about it. It is an important topic because this is our country and we should know what is good and bad about it.

2. My major is Criminal Justice so Race has a huge part in it, good and bad. People often see the police as racist towards other race groups which has always been a problem. I think i will be hit with many of these issues when i join the force.

-This is an easy subject to look up and research online. Their are a lot of views and conspiracy's by many people. In my opinion, I think this would be an interesting thing to research...i mean, it is our country we are talking about. I can't say it is something that i've always wondered about because i actually have looked up this kind of information before. I think this will give a lot of people an idea of what our country really is.

Step 3:

What is our country doing behind the scenes about this 9/11 conspiracy?
What would you do if you found out 9/11 was a lie to the american people?
9/11 history
Who is responsible for 9/11?

Class Blog 8/26/10

Well, reading and writing has gotten me this far in life and i think im at a good stage. Academically, I think that reading and writing is really important, especially in an English or Communications class. I read everyday of my life weather its the newspaper or Beefaroni cans. I honestly can say that i am on facebook, twitter and email. I like being on a computer.

The most difficult part of academic writing has to be knowing where to start. If it is an opinion based paper then i am golden. But if it is a research paper or a paper i really have no interest in...yeah, that's no fun. I think i can improve on proof-reading and of course spelling.

I don't read books. I enjoy sports and music. So whatever falls on those lines.

I think research is cool....if it's about something your interested in. Otherwise, you will be bored and hate writing if you hate the topic.

I would like to research interesting things in this course....surprise me. I really am motivated by music. If you give us a change to share information on music, i will be happy to spill my guts. Also, I can't go a day without either watching sports or playing sports. I would enjoy telling people about what i like to do and what i played in the past. Criminal Justice is my major, so...anything along those lines would be bomb.

As for conduction research for these things...simple, look at myself and write it down on this blog.
